This mixture has a light lemon like odor mixed with turpentine and spicy notes. This mixture is a powerful solvent and is used as in intermediate for producing terpene resins and other chemicals. Dipentene is insoluble in water, but soluble in alcohol and oil based solvents. Dipentene is a lower cost alternative to high purity
