Though unsigned, the "Melting Snow" moulded border is unique to Samuel Alcock c. 1830. Alcock owned potteries at Burslem and Cobridge and existed from 1828 59. His pottery firms were very well respected and prolific (see: Geoffrey Godden, Godden's Guide to English Porcelain, 1992, Wallace Homestead Book Co., pgs. 153
