The gong rings VERY loudly and just once when voltage is applied. This will wake up everybody in the house. AUTOCALL was founded in Shelby, Ohio in 1908, the company specialized in fire protection and communication equipment. This bell was mounted in my father's elementary school in New Orleans, which was built in 191. I salvaged it when the school was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and had it
