What happens when 26 boats leave Brunswick Landing Marina and head south for a four-day adventure? A whole lot of fun, laughter, great food, and unforgettable memories! Our Big Boat Trip to St. Marys, October 1–4, was one for the books! And to make the getaway even sweeter, all 26 boats enjoyed three nights of complimentary dockage at St. Marys Marina — our treat!
On Thursday, October 1st, our fleet arrived at St. Mary's Marina, ready for a weekend of fun. We kicked things off with an incredible welcome dinner catered by Locals Restaurant, located just steps from the docks. And what a feast it was! Fried shrimp, grilled chicken, baked potatoes, hush puppies, coleslaw, collard greens, and salad filled our plates. Chef Chad and his crew truly outdid themselves, and nobody walked away hungry!
Friday morning started with a buffet-style breakfast at Seagulls Restaurant. After breakfast, we were treated to a visit from David, a local who shared his wealth of knowledge about St. Mary's, Cumberland Island, and the area's fascinating history. Armed with all his wonderful stories and recommendations, everyone was ready to head out and explore! That evening, we gathered at the Yacht Club for Happy Hour, sharing stories, laughs, and a few cold drinks.
Saturday was all about enjoying the town's festivities! We watched the parade, wandered through the Seafood Festival, and enjoyed some fantastic food. Between the festivities, exploring the shops, and spending time with friends, there was something for everyone.
Sunday morning came way too quickly! We gathered for muffins, donuts, and a few last laughs before firing up the engines and making our way back home to Brunswick Landing Marina.
The Big Boat Trip wasn't just about the destination — it was about the people, the friendships, and the memories made along the way. There's something special about 26 boats coming together for four days of adventure.
